Collins, NY (WBEN) - A Town of Collins woman has been charged for neglecting to care for her frail mother-in-law.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputies charged 47-year-old Ayleene Foster with endagering the welfare of an incompetent person, after they found her 71-year-old mother-in-law locked in a bedroom, wearing a soiled diaper, with no access to food, water or a toilet.

Captain Ron Kenyon says the elderly woman suffered from dementia. She is being treated for bed sores and dehydration.
